Southeast Designer Showhouse — Pool Bath in Aria White Porcelain

This Southeast Designer Showhouse Pool Bath is small, playful, and resort-style. Designed by Claudia Stimmel of Simplicity a Southern Lifestyle, the room pairs blue and white striped tile across every wall with a floating vanity in Aria White Porcelain from Encore Stone Studio.

Floating vanities are one of our favorite things to build. Our first concept put a vessel sink on top of the vanity with a floating shelf below for towels. Claudia kept the shelf, and once her wall tile design ended up covering the entire wall, the vessel sink came off in favor of an integrated sink carved into the Aria White slab. The result reads as one continuous floating piece — the integrated sink and shelf doing more for the space than a vessel ever could.

If you’re planning a pool bath or guest powder room and considering a floating piece, the Perfect Fit Countertop Quiz is a quick way to find the right material.

Why This Design Works

✅ Floating vanities make small spaces feel larger — the air underneath lets the floor read continuously.

✅ Aria White Porcelain reads as soft marble without the maintenance pool guests would put on natural stone.

✅ The integrated shelf gives towels and amenities a home without crowding the counter.

✅ Removing the vessel sink lets Claudia’s striped tile carry the visual energy — sometimes less stone is more stone.

How to Recreate This Look

1️⃣ Float the vanity if your room is under 50 sq ft. The visual lift makes a small bath feel intentional rather than tight.

2️⃣ Match the integrated shelf material to the vanity for a single uninterrupted piece.

3️⃣ Choose porcelain over marble in pool and guest baths — wet feet, sunscreen, and chlorine all live here.

4️⃣ Let the tile carry the color and keep the stone neutral. Two loud surfaces will fight.
